January:
Pantomime at various

February:

for the kids.
Holiday on Ice at Westpoint.
March:
Marriage of Figaro,
Northcott theatre.
April:
Exeter Festival of South West
Food and Drink - sees the region’s top chefs going head
to head to create amazing dishes in the cookery theatre and local
suppliers proudly provide tasters
and sell their wares with the backdrop of Northenhay Gardens and
Exeter Castle.
The English Rivera Geo-park
Festival - showcases the home-grown aspects of the English
Rivera UNESCO Geopark - a packed
itinerary celebrates everything the UNESCO Geopark area encompasses
with sporting tournaments, arts, literary events, local music,
food & drink fairs and more.
May:
Devon County Show - Devon
County Show, the county’s
largest event, takes place near Exeter. The show of rural life
has expanded over the years to include rides, displays, shopping
and more yet still has the traditional livestock showing and show-jumping.
June:
North Devon Festival
- celebrates the cultural heritage of the area and includes dance
and music, fairs and art, sport
and comedy and much more over the month of June.
The GoldCoast Oceanfest
- is all about good times, great sport, quality music and looking
after the environment. Sporting
contests include surfing, paddle racing, mountain bike trials and
an aquathon.
Exeter Comedy Club Festival
Specials - Firmly established as one of the Summer Festival’s
must see events, Exeter Comedy Club once again features four
acts from the national stand-up circuit
but this year’s shows are just a little extra special.
July:
Teignmouth Golf Festival
- Teignmouth's Golf Festival this year falls on the 3rd to the
9th July 2010.
August:
Beautiful Days Festival
- Beautiful Days is the Levellers music and family festival which
takes place at Escot Park in the
heart of Devon.
Dunster Show - A country
show set in stunning Exmoor scenery on the edge of the Medieval
village of Dunster with it's
Castle.
September:
Heritage Open Days - celebrate England’s culture & architecture
with free access to properties.
October:
Hallowscream at Crealy - HallowScream is the first UK
adult only Halloween party featuring Halloween Scare Zones, night
ride’s, horror actors, theme park rides, indoor entertainments,
live bands and DJs.
November:
Autumn Festival -
Exeter Autumn Festival is a celebration of music, theatre, comedy,
art, dance and other types of performance.
This is the festival that showcases local talent but also features
some national and international events.
Ottery Tar Barrels
- Every year on November 5th for reasons lost in antiquity, the
Flaming Tar Barrels are carried through
the streets of Ottery St Mary to the delight of thousands of townsfolk
and visitors.
Christmas Shopping Fayre -
For 3 fun-packed days the Devon County Show-ground hosts an amazing
range of retailers, manufacturers,
craftspeople, wholesalers and importers from far and wide who transform
the vast 50,000 sq ft hall into an Aladdin’s cave of wonderful
gift ideas and essential Christmas items.

Light Switch On - Children's TV celebrity
Toby Anstis is due to kick off the festive season in Exeter by
switching on the Christmas lights in the city centre. Toby, a
presenter on the Heart radio station in Exeter, will switch on
the display
of sparkling bulbs in the High Street on Tuesday, November 17.
He will be joined by the Lord Mayor of Exeter, Councillor John
Winterbottom, pantomime favourite Mother Goose and the Heart
FM’s breakfast
show presenters Matt and Dani.
December:
Exeter Christmas Gift
Market - The annual Christmas Gift Market will once again be
found at Fore St/South St, with an array
of treasures on offer.
Slow Food Market -
Locally produced meats, cheeses, game, fish, fruit, vegetables,
juices, cakes, preserves, and other produce
from the around the region are on offer, with information about
the Slow Food movement as well as advice from the producers and
suppliers on how to make the most of what you buy.
